Model overview based on user reviews
The Grado SR-60 headphones are highly praised for their crystal clear sound and high-quality audio performance, making them a top choice for audiophiles. Users appreciate the comfortable ear pads and the headphones' ability to reveal the details in music, providing a fresh listening experience. Despite their excellent sound quality, some users note the open design and long, thick cable as potential drawbacks, particularly for portability and outdoor use. The headphones are described as having a reliable construction and a professional feel, though they may not be compact or convenient for travel. Overall, the Grado SR-60 is recommended for those who value balanced and authentic sound, especially for home use, and are willing to overlook the design features that contribute to their superior audio quality.
Pros
Cons
If you are a music lover, do not be greedy for good ears from Grado. They will justify themselves! Grado headphones are truly a Prestige Series. They sound very high quality, the sound is crystal clear, the ear pads are comfortable, light and pleasant for the ears. Sennheiser falls short, these are mainstream headphones for the mass consumer. Previously listened to AKG K171P, K518DJ. Grado is definitely higher in quality. The disadvantages are openness, awkward design and a long thick wire. |
I wanted them for a very long time. When the cable on my Sennheiser PX-100 finally broke (which cannot be replaced) and the ear cup snapped off the headband, I ordered the Grado. No, they are not magical, just play very well. You immediately hear the difference between high-quality sound and not so much – recording, mixing, digital track quality. You hear all the details of the music, at first it's very unusual, you can't keep up with processing all the musical information. Then you get used to it and just enjoy. Most of my music library has sounded completely new. I've re-addicted to acid jazz, it sounds the best in them. Also, well-recorded live performances. The bass is truthful and dynamic, the highs – you hear every detail, the voice – splendid. Alive, real. On closed headphones, it will never sound this way. Except maybe on expensive monitors. I recommend them to everyone who values balanced sound. In "analog" music, the instruments and voice sound great. In electronic – an excellent musical picture, atmosphere, distribution of instruments. Yes, you probably won't hear fluffy mega-bass. Drawbacks. Some recordings disappointed me. They used to sound just normal. Now – compared to higher-quality recordings – they seem somewhat flat. You can hear the difference. With prolonged wear, they press on the ears, and the headband – on the head. If possible, try them on in a store before buying. I bought them in April 2011 at smart-shop.com.ua for 642 UAH, delivery to Lviv cost 11 UAH) The best sound I've heard, cool look, reliable construction (at least for now). Leaves the impression of professional sound equipment, something "authentic". Not compact, inconvenient outside. They do not fold, nowhere to put them when you're not listening and don't want to hang them around your neck (unless you have a bag with you). The thick long cable gets tangled (plus the ear cups swivel around their axis, which makes tangling even worse). The cable constantly falls out of the pocket :) But all this is "side effects" - the design of the ear cups affects the sound, the "non-folding" affects the reliability of the design, and the cable length provides maneuverability at home. |
Headphones for home use (in my opinion), there are other SPECIFICALLY designed models for the street, and GRADO has them too. I bought them online at BOMBER with delivery via Nova Poshta. VERY worthy item. Omnivores, music is not colored, you need a high-quality source, convenient design, 6.3-3.5 mm adapter included (I have an SR-60i), thick cable, 2nd signal input, ear pads can be purchased separately, comfortable listening without fatigue for a long time2 -3h. i haven't noticed anything yet, and what some call drawbacks are actually features of the design (THEY ARE OPEN!!!!) One should read carefully and draw conclusions. |
