I was very amazed that the camera can do 4k and 5k only in theory, but in reality, 4k only lasts 20 minutes before overheating. GoPro action cameras remain trendsetters in the rugged camcorder segment for action-packed shoots. They outperform competitors thanks to a developed accessory park and actively implemented innovations. So, the anniversary generation of GoPro has learned to shoot in high resolution, improved performance in low light and has grown in quality in terms of ease of control.
Front screen
The HERO10 model has retained the design proven over the years, which consists of a rectangular body form factor and a protruding lens on the “facade”. Also on the front panel of the action camera is a 1.4-inch diagonal colour screen — it will come in handy for composing the frame when shooting vlogs. The main display of the GoPro HERO10 stretches almost the entire plane of the back of the case — it has a diagonal size of 2.27" and supports touch control.
A high resolution
Under the hood of the action camera is headed by a completely new combination of 23.6 MP image sensor and GP2 processor. As a result, the model has learned to record video in resolutions up to 5.3K (5312x2988 pixels) at 60 fps. In 4K, shooting videos is possible with a high frame rate of 120 fps, and in Full HD — even 240 fps. The maximum bitrate in this case is 100 Mbps. During the shooting, the operator has access to HyperSmooth 4.0 digital stabilization, backed up by the auto-horizon leveling function.
Protected case
As before, the model supports the installation of interchangeable modules on the lens and has the ability to dive under water to a depth of 10 m(without using a protective case). Increasing the possibilities in video shooting “backfired” on the camera with a slight subsidence in terms of battery life — one charge of a 1720 mAh battery is enough for about an hour of continuous recording. A spare battery for an action camera will be quite useful.
