Bought a new one, worked for 1 month, and then the fan started whistling at ultrasonic levels so loudly that it was impossible to be in the room with it! Tried to lubricate the cooler myself, but it's completely sealed with plastic on both sides, and the fan itself seems non-removable, it’s encased with a metal cap instead of a retaining ring. IN THE DESCRIPTION OF THIS SITE, A MODEL GM-500G IS NAMED, WHICH IS UNKNOWN WHETHER IT EXISTS AT ALL, AND THE LINKS TO STORES WHERE THIS UNIT IS SUPPOSEDLY AVAILABLE, LIKE MOYO, LEAD TO A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT GM-500B, WHICH IS EXACTLY THE ONE I HAVE, AND THE COOLING FAN IN IT IS BRIGHT RED, NOT GREEN AS IN THE IMAGES ON THIS SITE. TO VERIFY THIS, YOU CAN CHECK THE IMAGES ON MOYO. IT IS ALSO CLAIMED THAT IT HAS UP TO 5 SATA CONNECTORS, BUT ACTUALLY THERE ARE ONLY THREE, AND THEY ARE POORLY PLACED. DESPITE NUMEROUS DEFECTS, IT IS RECOMMENDED FOR PURCHASE "ESPECIALLY USED UNITS, BUT ONLY WITH INTACT SEALS" DUE TO THE 8-PIN CPU POWER CONNECTOR. The most important thing is undoubtedly the 8-pin CPU power connector, which is rare in the five-hundred range of this price segment and allows you not to worry about compatibility with yet-to-be-released cutting-edge processors. THAT IS, LESS THAN 2MM EVEN WITH INSULATION, AND EVEN IN THE CHEAP 300-WATT ONES FROM OTHER FIRMS, THEY ARE MUCH THICKER. THE CONSEQUENCES OF USING THIN WIRES IN POWER SUPPLY UNITS ARE WELL KNOWN, SO I WON’T EXPLAIN THE CONSEQUENCES IN DETAIL. BESIDES, THE ANNOYING NOISE FROM THE FAN OF THE SAME UNIT ALMOST DIRECTLY DEPENDS ON THE POSITION OF THE UNIT AND IN MOST POSSIBLE POSITIONS IT WHINES.
