Model overview based on user reviews
The FrimeCom SM SM power supply has received mixed reviews from users. On the positive side, it is praised for its survivability and affordable price. One user noted that it performed well for over a decade, even after upgrading their system. However, there are significant concerns about its performance, with reports of it becoming very hot and having a maximum output of only 280 watts, which may not be sufficient for more demanding setups. Additionally, users have criticized it for being noisy, unreliable, and lacking a power switch, with some mentioning poor wire quality and outdated design. Overall, while it may be a budget-friendly option, potential buyers should consider these drawbacks and possibly invest in a more robust power supply for better performance and reliability.
Pros
Cons
When I went to 1st grade, my parents decided to buy me a computer. And it had this very power supply. Soon I became actively interested in computers, and when I saved up the necessary amount, I upgraded to a more powerful setup. The old setup was Pentium E5400, Nvidia 9500 GT 512 MB, 2 GB of RAM. This PC was assembled in 2010. And in 2018, I upgraded to a newer setup: FX-8300 (stock), GTX 1050ti, 16 GB of RAM. This power supply remained in that build. I replaced it only because it didn't have enough Molex connectors for my even more powerful setup. Other than that, this power supply is still working. Survivability, no complaints about the performance noticed The fan, after 6 years of operation, started making noise like a helicopter rotor. I solved the problem by lubricating the bearings. |
My PC consumes approximately 250 watts. But as tests on the internet show, it can handle a maximum of 280 watts!!! If you look at the back of the case, you can feel the "warm" air (40-50 degrees) being expelled by the cooler. Very cheap. Very hot. Maximum 280 watts use FrimeCom SM400 few months |
Dzhe filthy BZ, even a lot of noise, and my system at 115 watts is supposed to work. - Noise, unreliability, no power supply switch, poor wire quality, outdated. |
