Model overview based on user reviews
The Franke Basis BFG 611-62 114.0272.595 kitchen sink is a modern and stylish choice, featuring a sleek, rectangular design with neatly rounded surfaces. Made from a quartz composite (fragranite), it offers superior durability, being as hard as granite and resistant to scratches and impacts. This material also boasts antibacterial properties and comes with a 10-year manufacturer's warranty. The sink includes a dish drying wing and an overflow feature, and it is available in various colors such as brown, silver, gray, black, and more. While the sink is noted for its high quality and modern aesthetics, some users mention that its dark colors can make dried hardness salts and contaminants more visible. Overall, it is a highly regarded product, praised for its durability and design, making it a great addition to any contemporary kitchen.
Pros
Cons
I already had a Franke sink before and I must say that in 12 years of its operation I did not have to say a single bad word about it. But times are changing and for me these changes have happened for the better. My wife and I designed our new kitchen on a grand scale, and in addition to the excellent kitchen furniture and built-in appliances, we needed a new stylish hood. This modern model with a fresh and modern design became it. It looks like a modern and trendy device. No large "grandma" curves. Only neatly rounded, strict granite-like surfaces. However, strictly speaking, this material is not granite. In terms of consumer and operational properties, it is better than granite. In fact, it is a composite of fine granite chips and high molecular weight acrylic resins. This unexpected combination resulted in a material with excellent properties. It is as hard as granite and resistant to scratches. More precisely, it can be scratched, but like granite, a sharp tool made of alloyed and well-tempered carbon steel is required. Obviously, such tools are not found in the kitchen. For example, you can easily cut on the composite surface with a knife made from 30Х13 steel, and no traces are left. True, the knife's edge might suffer, though. Unlike natural granite, the sink's surface is highly resistant to impacts and cracking. Additionally, this material has pronounced antibacterial properties. Furthermore, the sink comes with a ten-year (!) official warranty from the manufacturer. High cost. I will add that dried hardness salts and other contaminants are clearly visible on the dark brown material. |
