Previously, I used speakers from an old Japanese music center, Technics Eh600. The speakers were paired with Rotel a12, 60w per channel. For Focal, the recommended power is from 40w per channel. Before purchasing, I wrote to the tech support (as stated in the instructions) of Rotel and Focal about the compatibility of such a setup, but to this day, I haven't received a response from either of them))) Compared to the Technics Eh600, the sound has generally improved. Unfortunately, as it turns out, despite all the possible praise in reviews, the Chora has unpleasant distortions (small) in the HF (tweeter), and they are especially noticeable in complex compositions, which is disappointing given the high price paid for the speakers. Another downside worth mentioning is the defect, apparently in the production of suspensions, specifically that they crack after 1-2 years... and this is a problem because the warranty on the speakers is just 1 year, and the transportation is also quite an adventure... and as people say on the internet, it takes about 40 days. ![]() |
Products of the French company Focal JMLab are supplied to 80 countries of the world, delighting music lovers with high sound quality and workmanship. The Chora 826 floorstanding 3-way loudspeaker tops the new Chora range, replacing the entry-level Chorus range, and is great for larger venues, both in appearance and sound performance.
Status in each line
The tall and thin speakers have a slightly inclined cabinet for optimal sound reproduction. 21-kilogram cabinets in a wooden case on a stable Time Alignment podium with all their appearance indicate the status and premium segment.
Harmonious calm colours Black, Light Wood, Dark Wood, and an oval grill that partially covers the front panel allow you to perfectly harmonize with any interior.
Immersive sound
Three-way acoustics is equipped with a 25 mm TNF tweeter with an inverted aluminium-magnesium dome and a suspension made of Poron material and three identical in size (165 mm) speakers — 1 midbass and 2 woofers with light but rigid 3-layer sandwich membranes made according to Slatefiber technology (two layers of thermoplastic polymer are separated by a layer of non-woven carbon fibre).
The system sounds juicy and generous throughout the claimed range of 48 – 28000 Hz. The bass-reflex port brought to the front panel amplifies low frequencies, giving the bass assertiveness.
Acoustics is able to work with an amplifier with a power of 40 to 250 W per channel, which makes it possible to comfortably sound a room up to 70 square metres. m.
The Focal Chora 826 is a choice that will definitely not disappoint. The system demonstrates an excellent balance of price and quality, sounds great and looks just as good in the interior.
