Outdated Product
A storage type water heater capable of satisfying the hot water needs of a family of 3-5 people. It is positioned by the manufacturer as a model of the middle class and price range with good technical parameters. A capacious tank with a volume of 80 liters is made of high-quality steel and does not give in to deformations in the operating mode, and at excess pressure a safety valve opens to bleed air and water. To prevent corrosion, the inner surface is coated with heat-resistant enamel, and the included magnesium anode provides electrochemical protection. The Electrolux EWH 80 Formax DL boiler consumes 2 kW of power from a household power supply and heats the contents from 10 ° to 75 °C in just over three hours. The heating element is two dry heating elements, which differ from the...usual ones by the presence of a shell that prevents the deposition of particles forming scale build-ups. This facilitates the maintenance of the device, and for ease of use there is a thermostat and a liquid crystal display placed on the front wall of the case.

Model overview based on user reviews
The Electrolux EWH Formax DL series of boilers, available in various capacities, is praised for its compact design, efficient thermal insulation, and quick water heating capabilities. Users appreciate the dry heating element and the clear temperature readings. However, several reviews highlight issues with electronics sensitivity to voltage fluctuations, leading to frequent service center visits. Some users experienced leaks and heating element failures within months of use. While the brand is well-known, reliability concerns are noted, with some models requiring additional surge protection. Despite these issues, the product is recommended by some for its functionality and brand reputation, though others advise caution due to potential defects.

normal model, nothing special

I must have been unlucky with the boiler. At first, my wife and I really liked it - it quickly heats the water, keeps the water hot for a long time, the control is convenient. But after 10 months, he began to behave strangely - he began to turn off by himself, without heating the water to the maximum, then he switched to another mode, and so on. They took it to the service, they repaired it and returned it back. But two months later, the same thing began and another problem was added - the water began to cool about twice as fast and water began to drip from the non-return valve. In general, what is happening with the boiler is not clear. We took it back to the service, we are waiting for the result.
heats water quickly, good thermal insulation, manufacturer, price, management, service
failures in the electronics, after a year it began to keep heat worse and began to drip from the check valve

A surge protector is a must buy!!! It's a pity I didn't install it right away.
7 July 2018
We replaced two of them under warranty, the temperature sensor burned out, the boiler overheated the water (the display showed 26 degrees, but the output was boiling water). The third one was a similar model but without a display. Later I found out that it was out of order due to voltage surges that occur when the light switch makes poor contact bathroom (if there was poor contact, voltage surges of over 300 Volts occurred, then I measured the voltage through a surge protector - no surges)
Dry heating element. The design is just super. Accurate and clear temperature readings, until it broke ;)
Sensitivity of electronics to mains voltage!!! They messed up with the memory of temperature modes (that programmer needs a lobotomy), the instructions are not entirely accurate.

manufacturer, very compact shape, optimal volume, magnesium anode
assembly with the left foot - the control panel is installed crookedly, but this is still nothing, but the fact that after 3 months the boiler leaked is no longer very pleasing. unreliable, six months later I had to change the heating element - it burned out, and it’s not clear why. The service center takes a long time to repair.

swedish station wagon

The storage water heater of the well-known Swedish manufacturer Electrolux EWH 80 Formax DL stands out for its rectangular body, wall mounting versatility and a convenient control panel. The 80L inner tank is made of carbon steel and has a high quality enamel finish that gives the drive a premium 7 year warranty. With temperature drops, cracks do not form on the plastic enamel of the tank, which in boilers of other brands can become centers of corrosion. A large magnesium anode is used as additional protection for the surfaces of the tank and heater flasks.

TEN X-Heat is a definite hit!

The heating power of two "dry" X-Heat heating elements is 2 kW, and their operation is carried out in 3-stage mode: 0.8, 1.2 and 2 kW. The heating time of the full contents of the tank from 10 °C to a maximum temperature of 75 °C is only 3 hours 11 minutes, which characterizes the high performance of the boiler. In the lower part of the case there is an innovative electronic control panel with touch buttons and a large contrast LED display, which allows you to smoothly set temperatures from 30 to 75 °C with a high accuracy of 1 °C. The appliance has a built-in ECO mode that heats water up to approx. 55 °C. At the same time, solid lime deposits are practically not deposited on the walls of the tank and the protective flasks of the heaters. This simplifies the maintenance of the device and significantly extends its life. The model has several levels of standard protection: against overpressure, overheating, dry heat and electric shock.
