Saws: types, purpose and selection tipsA brief overview of different types of saws and sawing machines with tips on choosing the right tools
good model, I liked it
29 April 2017
I needed an inexpensive miter saw and a brief review of models available in our market led me to this very respectable option. DWT is indeed a brand, so I expected a certain level of quality and I got it, at a relatively low cost.
The saw is powerful, with a 1600 W electric motor providing quite serious strength, making it quick and convenient to cut large materials. The diameter of the saw blade is large at 255 mm, but the saw is also compatible with 250 mm blades. The cutting depth at a right angle is 70 mm, which is not record-breaking (some models with 255 mm blades cut at 90 mm), but it's sufficient for my needs. I liked the swivel table; although it has some minor issues with precise angle fixing, it's more of a characteristic than a problem. The swivel angles are standard, 45 degrees in each direction. The tilt is also performed at 45 degrees to the right and left, with stepless adjustment. The stand is a stable aluminum one, weighing 11 kg. I have no complaints about it, but an extra couple of kilograms would not hurt for reliable stability, so to say. I also liked the rubberized handles. For smaller tasks, it's insignificant, but when cutting a lot, even such a detail matters. There is an official two-year warranty.
A dust and debris collection bag doesn't solve the problem. But I was able to attach a cheap industrial vacuum cleaner to its mounting nozzle. Now it collects much more thoroughly. When locking the rotation on the horizontal plane, the angle gets slightly off; you just need to account for this initially when setting the value, and then everything works out.
