Drill chuck: types and differencesSpecifics of different types of chucks for drilling and working with fasteners

Which is better: drill, screwdriver or drill-driver?We study the design features and specifics of the use of such similar, but still different types of power tools
Model overview based on user reviews
The DWT BM-280 T drill-driver is a versatile tool that combines the functions of both a drill and a screwdriver, making it a practical choice for home use. Users appreciate its fast and strong performance, with enough power to handle various tasks like mixing small portions of putty and tile adhesive. The tool is noted for its affordable price and quality workmanship. However, some users find the torque adjustment range limited and the illumination weak, which can be a drawback in low-light conditions. The absence of a spindle brake and a case box are also mentioned as minor inconveniences. Despite these design shortcomings, the DWT BM-280 T is praised for its reliability and effectiveness in handling assigned tasks, making it a good choice for hobbyists and light professional use.
Pros
Cons
i have been using this screwdriver professionally for over two years - it turns like the devil, fast and strong. Fast, strong, I even use it to mix small half-bucket portions of putty and tile adhesive. The screwdriving speed, even at the first gear, is a bit too sharp; I'd prefer it to be a bit slower and smoother. use DWT BM-280 T more than year |
I got this piece of tech purely for home use, like hanging a picture or drilling a hole to the neighbor. I liked the feature that it's both a drill and a screwdriver, a "two in one" so to speak. Some savings on money. The work mode changes with a switch (just changes the rpm of the chuck and you're good to go). In screwdriver mode, it's got quite the torque. You can't hold the chuck with your hand. I haven't used it on an industrial scale, but I use it regularly. A good gadget for a hobbyist. Drill and screwdriver at the same time! For this money you simply cannot find anything better. Small, but most importantly practical. Quite high quality according to my subjective assessments. Speed adjustment at the touch of a button. The motor has enough power - I screwed it in and drilled everything I needed. Never let me down. If only there was more lighting here, it would be just right. The tool is not pro level. I don't think it can withstand serious loads. Case box is not included. You have to keep it in a torn cardboard box of the one that was included in the delivery. use DWT BM-280 T month or more i recommend it should buy |
The biggest drawback I find is the weak torque at the switch's maximum position. Even in pre-drilled holes, it is impossible to screw a f4 self-tapping screw flush with the surface of the wooden beam; I had to tighten it in drilling mode, but this is inconvenient due to the lack of a spindle brake. The 18 steps do not provide a sufficient adjustment range. My ten-year-old Chinese Ferm with a 6-step adjustment offers a more adequate range for working with drywall, wooden structures, and installing corrugated metal on a metal base. The spindle has a play of about 15 degrees! The chuck needs to be tightened strongly; otherwise, the tool might loosen and fall out during operation. Meanwhile, the gearbox is self-locking, so the chuck can be tightened quite well. I'd also mention the vague operation of the spindle speed range switch - sometimes it jams and fails to engage fully. The light is weak, useful only in complete darkness. Overall, I do not regret the purchase. It is made quite well, and the shortcomings are more about design, which are compensated by the price and usage experience, handling the tasks assigned to it effectively. Price, mains powered, powerful enough, workmanship. Small torque adjustment range, weak illumination, chuck play, no spindle brake. |
