Lightweight impact drill with medium power. The manufacturer positions this model as a professional tool, although the product boasts a relatively affordable price. The drill has a small size and weight of 1820. The back support surface of the handle is rubberized, and the handle itself has a comfortable ergonomic shape. The tool is equipped with a standard 13mm cartridge. The drill received an electric motor with a maximum power of 701 W, which allows it to spin the cartridge up to 2800 rpm (at idle).

The torque reaches 8 Nm, which is enough for drilling wood with a diameter of up to 25 mm or standard structural steels with a diameter of up to 13 mm. In shock mode, the DeWALT DWD024 drill confidently handles with drilling concrete, and the hole diameter can reach 16 mm. The speed of rotation of the cartridge is regulated by an electronic circuit by changing the force of pressing the trigger button. There is a special side latch to keep the button pressed. It also provides for fast reverse switching. The drilling depth can be set using a special limiter. The mains cable has a two-metre length, kink protection and a place to attach the key needed to work with the chuck.

Model overview based on user reviews
The DeWALT DWD024 is a classic and reliable impact drill, known for its solid build and above-average power. While its impact energy is modest, making it more of a vibrating tool than a rotary hammer, it effectively handles household tasks like drilling holes in wood, metal, and even concrete, albeit at a slower pace compared to more powerful tools. Its lightweight design (1.8 kg) and compact size make it easy to handle, even in tight spaces. The drill features a key chuck, which some users prefer for its reliability, although it may require occasional tightening. The trigger button allows for smooth speed regulation up to 2800 rpm. Overall, the DeWALT DWD024 is a good choice for home use, especially in environments with reinforced concrete walls, offering a balance of performance and affordability.

good model, liked it

Well, how can you do without a drill at home? The house is panel, multi-storey, with reinforced concrete walls and ceilings, so a rotary hammer is best suited for making holes in such walls. But rotary hammers don't know how to drill accurately, and I needed that too. So I got this rotary hammer on the farm. DeWalt chose because the brand is not bad, and the prices are reasonable.
This is a classic and reliable "as solid as a door" impact drill with above-average power. Of course, the impact energy is small; when working with concrete, the drill doesn't strike like a rotary hammer, it rather vibrates. But the result is the same, albeit not as fast. Compared to an 800-watt Bosch rotary hammer, the drilling speed is 4-5 times slower. However, at home, I've never needed to drill more than five holes at a time, and most often it's one or two holes with an 8 mm drill bit for a plastic dowel. For such tasks, this drill is more than sufficient, and I can endure the slow drilling, waiting an extra 30 seconds—just imagine ))) The drill itself is quite lightweight for its power, only 1.8 kg. It's compact in size, making it easy to handle even in slightly cramped conditions. The trigger button confidently and smoothly regulates the engine speed from 0 to 2800 rpm. It drills wood and metal with confidence.
She has a key cartridge and I took it consciously, I didn’t want to mess with newfangled quick-clamps, which are not very reliable. But, to be honest, I'm not very happy with them. A carbide-tipped drill after one hole (and sometimes even earlier) starts to rotate and the cartridge has to be tightened again.

The construction tool of the American brand DeWALT can rightfully be considered a worthy competitor to Bosch, and the DWD024 impact drill is one of this confirmation.

Everything for comfortable work

The tool is thought out for trifles, so that working with it was not only effective, but also comfortable. Light weight 1.82 kg, ergonomic shape, rubberized main handle and removable auxiliary handle, metal drilling depth limiter, start button lock — everything is aimed at user convenience. Pleased with the cable. It is flexible, does not break, does not dube and does not crack for a long time.

Technical capabilities

For all its merits, the drill is low-power (701 W), but high-speed (up to 2800 rpm). It handles well with holes in wood, soft metals, red brick. But with drilling, chiselling concrete, stone and mixing thick building mixtures, adhesives, you should be more careful. There is not enough power and overheating is felt, you will not work for a long time.

It is not entirely clear what prevented equipping the tool with a keyless chuck, given its frankly domestic orientation, but DeWALT decided that it was not needed here, as well as manual speed control.

In general, DeWALT DWD024 is a worthy choice for a wide range of household tasks with an eye to long-term use without intense loads. Given the cost of $ 80, the model clearly outperforms its direct competitor Bosch GSB 16 RE Professional.
