D-Link DIR-825/AC/G1
![]() | Outdated Product Dual-band wireless router with four external antennas and support for high-speed Gigabit Ethernet cable connections with data rates up to 1 Gbps. The manufacturer is positioned as an affordable device for organizing a performant Wi-Fi and cable network. It is intended for use in the conditions of the house and small office. As the hardware basis of the device, a Realtek RTL8197DN processor is used, operating at a clock frequency of 660 MHz, 64 MB of DDR2 RAM and 8 GB of permanent Flash memory. The performance of such a bundle is sufficient to realize the potential of an incoming gigabit connection to the provider's network. In addition to the Gigabit Ethernet WAN port, the router is equipped with a USB Type-A 2.0 connector with the ability to connect 3G and 4G LTE modems. To service the in...ternal home/office network, there are 4 RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet ports and a high-performance 802.11b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi module capable of simultaneously operating in the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. Thus, the D-Link DIR-825/AC/G1 wireless router provides a high data rate "over the air", which is up to 300 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band and up to 867 Mbps in the 5 GHz band. There is a firewall function (Firewall), when you connect a USB printer or drive, the functionality of the file and print server is implemented. Supports the latest security protocols and VPN tunneling. The router is simple and straightforward to set up. |

- 4 antennas :) - Power is significantly better than the cheap tp-link. - The 5GHz channel works perfectly, I've never seen speeds of 99 Mbps over WiFi before :) - - - the power supply does not squeak - WiFi settings were misconfigured: the new password and new network were suddenly forgotten and the old ones returned, saving and rebooting seemed to help. - The box is not optimized for the router at all, the antennas could have been placed separately and folded, and the box would have been about 2 times smaller. use D-Link DIR-825/AC/G1 week |
beauty will save the world
Previously, routers were rather faceless devices that you wanted to hide away. In recent years, the situation has changed, and the D-link DIR-825/AC/G1 is another example of this: you are not ashamed of its appearance, and it will fit into the interior of an apartment without any problems.
Operates in 2.4 and 5 GHz bands
The router has four fixed antennas — two for each band: antennas located on the rear panel — for the 2.4 GHz band, on the sides — for the 5 GHz band. Plus, D-link DIR-825/AC/G1 supports the updated 802.11 ac communication standard, which theoretically gives a maximum speed of 1167 Mbps.
USB for connecting modems and external HDDs
The capabilities of the router are not limited only to the distribution of the Internet from a wired provider. The presence of a USB port implements a number of additional features. You can connect a 3G / 4G modem to the router and use it as a backup Internet access, or, for example, in the country, where there are not very many connection options. You can also connect a USB flash drive or external hard drive to the USB port and use them as a network storage for photos, movies or text documents.
Easy setup
To configure the router, you can use both the standard web interface and the D-Link Click'n'Connect application. In the first case, we get a wide range of settings, including choosing the desired protocol, setting up dynamic and static IP addresses, filtering by MAC addresses, parental control, and a number of other additional features. In the case of the application, the principle of maximum simplicity works when the user just needs to follow a step-by-step guide. Both interfaces are nice and concise, it's hard to get lost here, even if you're setting up a network for the first time. Unfortunately, the app only works on Android smartphones.
The only complaint is that sometimes the WiFi settings would get messed up: suddenly the new password and new network would be forgotten and the old ones would return, saving and rebooting seemed to help.
I'm satisfied with everything, using it only as a WiFi router on 2.4GHz and 5GHz simultaneously. The passwords and network names are different on each band.
