I was planning to buy a motorized scythe with a gasoline engine, and, as they say, I was spoiled for choice. There are a variety of models with different power, size, and performance. Discussing the origin of these machines is generally difficult; the country of origin ranges widely from Germany and Sweden to China and Ukraine. I intentionally put Ukraine last because, at times, even assembling the metal shipped from China properly can be challenging here. Since the area I need to "clear" is quite sizable and has not only soft grass but also growing bushes and quite woody weeds, I was looking at models with power starting from 3 kilowatts and equipped not only with a line but with good blades as well. In general, on the advice of a friend, I chose this rather powerful model, as he uses not the same but similar equipment from this same brand. Most of all I liked the combination of power and high engine speeds. With such parameters, both the cord and the carbide-tipped knife work great, the remnants of grass and weeds scatter at space speed (by the way, I advise you to definitely protect your legs with closed shoes and trousers made of fairly dense fabric). Just as cheerfully and cheerfully, young and not only bushes are cut. There is enough power for any task, and it does the job quickly. The shoulder strap is comfortable, but the weight, of course, is still felt. It runs on cheap gasoline and inexpensive motor oil, the mixing ratio is classic 25 to 1. It weighs over nine kilograms. In the first 5-10 minutes on the shoulder, this weight is not particularly burdensome, but later the weight and vibration begin to be felt. So both the shoulder and the arms get tired, but if the same amount of work is done only with the hands, then it would take an order of magnitude more time, and the discomfort would be much more significant. |
