Model overview based on user reviews
The Cooler Master RR-X117-18FP-R1 is a quiet and efficient active cooler designed for processors, making it a good replacement for standard cooling solutions. It features a single 95 mm fan with a maximum noise level of 19 dB, ensuring a silent operation where even a hard drive might produce more noise. The cooler is easy to install and comes at a reasonable cost. It is compatible with several Intel sockets, including 775, 1150, 1155/1156, 1151/1151 v2, and 1200. Although it has a 3-pin fan, which limits programmatic control over rotation speed, it performs well for regular use but is not suitable for significant overclocking. Users have reported reliable performance over extended periods, making it a great choice for those needing a simple, effective cooling solution.

great model, love it

A good cooler if you need to replace the one that came with the processor. It’s definitely not suitable for overclocking (well, perhaps for very small ones). But it was not created for this. I've been using it on an Intel Core i3-4160 for almost a year now, and it's running great. I put it in and never remembered it again.
The cooler is very quiet, my hard drive makes more noise. Cools normally. A good replacement for the standard turntable. There were no issues with the installation at all. Ridiculous cost.
The fan has 3 pins; it is not possible to programmatically control the rotation speed.
