Outdated Product
A moderately simple and high-quality computer power supply in the ATX 12V v2.53 format with an 80+ Gold quality certificate, an efficiency of around 90% and modular cables that can be disconnected when not needed. It is part of the PowerPlay line, which is one step below PowerUp power supplies in the Chieftec brand hierarchy. With a similar design to PowerUp, a simpler platform from CWT is used, there is no possibility of optimizing the operation of the cooling system, and instead of Japanese Nichicon and Nippon capacitors, Chinese ChengX products are installed. According to the manufacturer, such a power supply is an excellent option for powering gaming systems equipped with video cards with a TDP of up to 400 W. It is fully compliant with the ATX standard and...can be easily installed in any Midi Tower case. The design of the power supply case is interesting due to the use of an unusually shaped grille, painted white. In terms of technical characteristics, the unit is equipped with an active power factor corrector with a wide voltage range (from 100 to 240 V), a synchronous rectifier for the +12VDC channel and independent pulse converters for the +3.3VDC and +5VDC lines. The +12VDC bus capacity is 846 W, which makes this power supply suitable for powerful systems with one or two video cards. For the main +12VDC bus, a peak value of 846 W is declared, that is, almost 100% of the total power of the unit.

Model overview based on user reviews
The Chieftec PowerUp series, particularly the GPX-850FC and GPX-750FC models, offers a compelling choice for those seeking a PSU with an 80+ Gold certification at a reasonable price. Users appreciate the modularity and reputation of the brand, which provides flexibility in cable management. However, there are notable concerns regarding the stiffness and inconvenience of the cables, especially the 24-pin cable, which some users found difficult to insert into the PSU and motherboard. Despite these challenges, the PSU performs quietly under load, even with demanding setups. While the product is generally well-received, potential buyers should be aware of the cable issues and consider replacing them if necessary. Overall, the Chieftec PowerUp series is a solid choice for those prioritizing efficiency and brand reliability, though some may find the price point less appealing unless the GOLD certification is a priority.

Cons

for 5k it would be top for its money, for 6 not so much... Only if the GOLD label is important to you.

I have no idea what to write in the review for the PSU, since essentially it should be written when
1 - There is a power surge and some device gets fried, and it's operating at that moment
2 - Connect a farm closely to 550 and check if the contacts will melt
3 - Lightning strikes)
1060 6GB + 12600K and a bunch of peripherals = no noise
The wires are packed in a bag. Detailed instructions, no complaints about the package, even 2 cables turned out to be unnecessary.

It seems like a good option, but the cables were very strained and had to be changed

When purchasing, I advise you to immediately change the cable, you will not like it

Cables, they are very inconvenient here, stiff. Especially the 24pin cable - long, thick, unbendable, black...

wires and connectors I pricked all my hands while inserting the 24-pin into the PSU and spent a lot of strength The 24-pin does not go into the motherboard until it clicks, and I don’t want to break it I’ll have to do something about this, because the board may burn out
