Beginner-level telescope designed for those who want to delve into the study of astronomy and are willing to spend time learning the basics. It is built on a Newtonian reflector base with a 127 mm aperture and a long focal length of about 1000 mm, resulting in a narrower field of view compared to other models, but providing a clearer image at high magnifications. This makes the Celestron PowerSeeker 127EQ telescope suitable for observing the Moon, planets, double stars, and bright star clusters, although nebulous objects and galaxies will be less accessible without dark skies. This model is suitable as a first telescope for novice astronomy enthusiasts who are ready to patiently understand the features of setup and operation, but do not expect professional quality images.

Model overview based on user reviews
The Celestron PowerSeeker 127EQ is a beginner-friendly telescope with a compact design, making it suitable for schoolchildren and novices. However, it has notable drawbacks, such as a large central obstruction (32%) and a questionable quality corrector lens, which result in low contrast images even at moderate magnifications. The inclusion of a 4mm eyepiece and a 3x Barlow lens seems to be more about increasing the product's cost rather than enhancing its performance. Users have noted that these issues are common in budget telescopes, particularly those manufactured in China. Despite these limitations, the telescope can still serve as an introductory tool for understanding the basics of telescope construction, but it may not satisfy those looking for higher quality optics.
Pros

Cons

a model with serious flaws
18 February 2016
For beginners, LA is categorically contraindicated. Better buy 114EQ.
Pretty small pipe.
The large central obstruction (32%), combined with a questionable quality corrector lens and a spherical primary mirror, produces low contrast images even at 100x. Accordingly, a 4mm eyepiece and 3x Barlow lens are used by the manufacturer solely to increase the cost of this "device for studying the construction of a telescope"!

normal model, nothing special

What do you want from a Chinese craft for such a price. All firms are like that. I have a DS2130 Meade with the same crap. With short tubes, this corrector lens is really crap, in fact a barlow lens. It is set in order to reduce the size of the pipe (the real focal length of the main mirror is less than 1.5-2 times from the total focal system). Throw it to hell and use a normal barlow lens.
Suitable for schoolchildren and beginners.
All the disadvantages that are inherent in all cheap pipes of absolutely all companies (and there is only one company, China)
