Everything you need to know about watch backlightingTypes of modern backlights in traditional and smart watches

I have been using "Protreks" from Casio for more than 10 years. As a professional, like a tourist and traveler. The manufacturer is SUPER. The watch models, especially the latest Protrek discussed here, are indeed executed at a "5" star level... Well, maybe just a couple of remarks... A very successful model. Accurate movement, well-distinguishable hands and dial markings, and an enlarged electronic display compared to the previous model. Higher quality performance of all sensors - compass, barometer, altimeter (again, compared to previous models where these sensors were also of superb quality). Improved dial backlighting. 1. A "silent" dial, which is a flaw of almost all models of Casio's ProTreks and G-Shocks. It would be useful to digitize the divisions, for example with Arabic numerals, for better readability of information following the age-old traditions of military watches. 2. The strap is standard in length. But for people with wide and thick wrists, it might feel uncomfortably short. 3. The alarm signal lasts only 10 seconds. Are you sure that with such a signal, you will definitely wake up at night and not miss your flight from an exotic Asian country where there's only one flight per week????? use Casio PRW-6000Y-1E month or more i recommend it should buy |
Overall, I am very satisfied with the watch. These are far from the first Pro Treks I have used, so I have something to compare them with. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a perfect watch. But despite the shortcomings, I enjoy using this watch. Because it's a Pro Trek - high-tech and at the same time classically stylish. I hope they will last as long as my other Pro Treks, the oldest of which is already 12 years old. A wonderful appearance, combining the currently fashionable analog dial in urban environments with the legendary sporty high-tech Protrek style, imbued with the spirit of mountaineering, climbing, and traveling. Easily readable contrasting dial and display. Individual servomotors for each hand give the hands stylish movement during different functions. The polymer strap, reinforced with carbon, is durable and stylish, soft, and fits well on the wrist. The white LED backlight for the dial and display is a separate subject of admiration. The third-generation sensor is much more accurate and faster; the altimeter measures even a 1-meter difference in elevation. Convenient weather prediction function with an audible weather change signal. Compass, barometer, thermometer, stopwatch, and timer, alarms, radio time synchronization - as always, the full Protrek line-up functionality is, of course, present. Solar-powered rechargeable. Light and not bulky, they fit perfectly under a shirt sleeve, unlike G-Shocks or other thicker Protreks. The accuracy of the watch is good - 5 seconds per month (without radio correction). Style and once again style. The compass remains unstable on the horizon. Deviation from the horizontal position of the watch can easily introduce an error of 30°-60° in direction. The thermometer still depends on the heat of the wrist, and if the watch is on the wrist, the thermometer readings are completely useless. The altitude graph is quite scarce in terms of the number of displayed points. The barometric altimeter needs constant adjustment due to changes in atmospheric pressure. The crown can sometimes unlock on its own. There are occasional errors in the positioning of the second hand if functions are switched quickly when the hand is spinning fast. It is necessary to activate the hand reset mode. I expected more informative and diverse display modes from the LCD. The glass is not recessed into the bezels and is not protected from tangential impacts. The photoluminescent coating on the hands uses up irradiation energy very quickly, and the hands stop glowing about 5 minutes after exposure to sunlight. The bezel is non-rotating, which complicates using the compass. use Casio PRW-6000Y-1E month or more i recommend it should buy |
a week ago, My Desire came true. Not for advertising, bought it in a store from Kharkiv, takekt...m. Special thanks to Vlad! The package arrived at the Kyiv warehouse of Nova Poshta the next day. Packaging, documentation, lots of papers, and there they are - the watch!!! The most "challenging" part was setting the Athens timezone (timezone +2 for Ukraine), setting the daylight saving time, and...DONE, the watch showed the correct time. I am beyond happy; everything you could imagine in a watch - it's here, and it's not just a '+' in the description - these are genuinely functioning features. In a week, I've managed to test: compass - about 10 degrees off, compared to the mobile app, but these are measurements, as they say, 'out of the box,' without calibration (which is available in the watch). Altimeter - all precise and quite fast, tested it on stair flights, the barometer showed a drop today - and indeed, it was rainy in Kyiv today. Radio synchronization didn't work in the office; I'll try it outside - no rush for now. The backlight is just excellent - you can see both the time and digital figures. And it's only necessary in complete darkness, and even then, the time is quite readable due to the glow-in-the-dark indexes on the dial and hands. The temperature is measured rather accurately when removed from the wrist, which is understandable due to the proximity of the sensor to a heat source. There is also world time, stopwatch, timer, alarm, radio time synchronization - which I haven't fully explored yet, but I already have the time. A happy owner - Alexander from Kyiv. In my opinion, these are some of the most successful in design and functionality everyday watches from Casio: 3rd generation sensor (measuring temperature, altitude changes, compass and barometer), solar battery, waterproof up to 100 meters, metal bezel, and a combination of dynamics, life, and technology - it's hands in symbiosis with digital - INCREDIBLE BEAUTY )) Often, I escape from the urban captivity to nature, regularly sitting with a feeder on the Dnieper or Desna rivers. Therefore, I was looking for an assistant both in the city and outside the concrete jungle. Moreover, such that had a long-lasting battery, was not afraid of water, + had a set of tools for a tourist and angler. And so, when I first saw this watch, I was fired up with blue flame - I WANT.... Well, there are some disadvantages, where would we be without them: I fasten the bracelet at the 4th hole from the edge of the bracelet, which, when wearing the watch on my hand, slightly shifts the dial away from me. The alarm clock, as for me, is purely formal, a couple of beeps and that’s all, but that’s how it is.... use Casio PRW-6000-1E week |
