I always immediately set it to maximum mode so that it warms up faster, then leave it at 2. Small debris sticks, but the mat can be washed, I already tried it, it remained safe and sound. I warm not only my feet, but also my back and neck. I recommend. Soft fluffy surface. Machine washable. Reasonable price, there was also a discount on it. Heats up quickly.
