Model overview based on user reviews
The Behringer U-PHORIA UM2 is a compact and affordable audio interface, praised for its phantom power and good amplification quality for condenser microphones. Users appreciate its loud sound and ease of use, making it suitable for listening to music and recording voice for podcasts or streams. However, it may not be ideal for recording instruments like guitars, as it can produce a lot of noise, especially with overdrive. The interface is powered by USB, features convenient input signal and clipping indicators, and offers a headphone output with direct monitoring capability. While it may not offer extraordinary features, it is highly recommended for those seeking a budget-friendly option with excellent signal quality and no latency issues.
Pros
Cons
If you want to write guitars without overloading, this card is not for you. It makes a lot of noise. If you want to record a voice from a condenser microphone, you won’t be disappointed, it amplify well, and there is practically no noise. I can’t say anything about dynamic microphones, because... I haven't tried it. Therefore, if you are some kind of let's player/blogger and you need to record a voice from a condenser, it will do. Phantom power, loud sound (I use philips shp2000 ears - I never listen at maximum volume, it just blows my mind), good amplification quality for condenser microphones. The price of course. There is a lot of noise from the instrumental input/line, especially if you record the guitar with overdrive. Personally, I also often lose asio firewood with it. ![]() |
The most affordable audio interface with phantom power. I connected Superlux HO8 (I also left a review). It is powered by USB. The input signal and clipping indicators are conveniently located on the front panel. There's a headphone output with direct monitoring capability, that's fantastic! On the top, there are three knobs for microphone sensitivity, instrument channel sensitivity, and headphone output volume. Compact size. No latency with a microphone. I recommend this to anyone looking for a cheap interface. easy to use, very compact, excellent signal you won't get anything extraordinary ![]() |
