Line Acer Nitro 5 AN517-41

A line of large-format, value-balanced gaming laptops based on the AMD Ryzen 5000H (Cezanne, Zen 3, 7nm) hardware platform. All devices of the family are equipped with matte 17.3-inch displays based on high-quality IPS matrices with a resolution of 1920x1080 and wide viewing angles. Made in the original aluminium-plastic cases of moderate size, equipped with a full-size keyboard with Numpad and red LED-backlit.

Equipped with an efficient dual-fan cooling system that fully handles with the task of removing excess heat from the CPU and GPU without overheating and throttling. The manufacturer is positioned as a model of the middle / upper price category, designed for both economical gamers and ordinary users who want to get the most out of modern AAA-level gaming projects.

With high computing and 3D performance, Acer Nitro 5 AN517-41 laptops can fully perform the functions of a stationary universal home PC. The basis of the hardware platform of the family was a bunch of 6- or 8-core AMD Ryzen 5/7 5000 H-series processors with Nvidia GeForce GTX1650/RTX3060 video cards and 8/16 GB of fast DDR4 memory (expandable up to 32 GB). The speed of this configuration is quite enough for a comfortably high frame rate in any popular game projects of 2015-2021 at high or maximum settings.

Model overview based on user reviews
The Acer Nitro 5 AN517-41 is a gaming laptop that offers great value for its price, especially with its inclusion of the RTX 3060 graphics card. Users appreciate its powerful performance with options like the Ryzen 7 5800H processor, making it suitable for both gaming and heavy applications. The laptop features a large 17-inch screen and allows for hardware upgrades such as additional RAM and SSDs. However, there are several drawbacks, including mediocre cooling that can lead to high temperatures during intense gaming sessions, and weak speakers that may require external solutions for better sound quality. The build quality has been criticized for its glossy case prone to fingerprints and a frame that can detach easily. Despite these issues, many users find it a satisfactory purchase, though some suggest considering alternatives like MSI or Asus for potentially better features.

in short, decide for yourself, take a closer look at MSI if the budget allows.

when I bought it, I tried to return it twice in the first three days because of the drawbacks, but it didn't work out. Three months have passed, I found a way to deal with all the drawbacks, although damn, I wasn't obliged to for a hundred.
- Price, the most obvious factor, the only laptop with 3060 at that time below a hundred.
- After 3 months of use, it's still alive and well, I consider this the second important achievement.
- Added +8 GB of RAM and a 500 GB SSD, now there are no issues with heavy games or programs.
- The display frame at the bottom simply comes away from the display, you can pry it with a fingernail, and 148% dust will accumulate there over time. They told me at the store, "It's a feature of the model, no adhesive is intended there," for a hundred bucks, damn, it's not intended, even though other 17-inch brands have adhesive.
- Cooling, even though it's not news for laptops, easily goes up to 90, and when it works longer than 2-3 hours in turbo mode, it lags in games. I've noticed this feature, it can cool down to 70, but in exchange, it lags.
- Speakers, it's like they took the cheapest ones and shoved them in, the quality is [censored], it buzzes and hums terribly, although if you press on the speaker area (where those stickers are) to make it more or less acceptable, and placed some paper during opening for a tighter fit, you get a clear sound. Apparently, the assembly is lacking. The sound, you can't even hear a simple video from YouTube, I had to buy a mini speaker.
- The case material is prone to smudging, the cheapest, it creaks all over. At the first opening by a technician for inserting RAM, two plastic fasteners failed (broke, damn), even though it was opened super carefully, meaning the lid is not meant for opening at all, and the damn battery is built-in.

Overall satisfied, but there are nuances - described above. I will not recommend.

Bought in configuration: Ryzen 5 5600H, 8 GB RAM, SSD M.2, 256, Windows 10 Home for 95k.
- Top hardware of 2021
- Lower price compared to competitors
- The glossy case shows fingerprints easily, with only the screen frame and the laptop's bottom cover having a matte finish.
- Upgrading RAM or storage voids the warranty (a specific feature of Acer).
- Weak speakers and a relatively weak battery - 3574mAh. All is done for the sake of the laptop's slimness. Although in gaming laptops, the battery is generally just for show.
- In heavy games, the constant operating temperature of the processor reaches 91 degrees - very high. Suspected bad thermal paste from the factory, planning to replace it after the warranty expires.

The laptop is cool, quiet.

My version of the laptop is on Ryzen 5, the ones on 9 are very expensive indeed, even considering that AMD is cheaper and more powerful than Intel, it would still end up being too expensive, and I have a 512 disk, a large display, Full HD screen – this laptop is enough for me to play games and work, I don't need anything more. I like the key backlighting – the key travel is smooth.
Cool laptop - I recommend it.
So far, everything is satisfactory.
