8BitDo M30 is a Bluetooth gamepad designed in the style of the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis controller. Unlike modern gamepads in the style of Sony DualShock/DualSense and Xbox Gamepad with 4 main buttons and 4 triggers, this gamepad is equipped with six ABCXYZ front buttons, two side triggers and a 4-way D-pad. This layout makes it the best choice for retro games and fighting games with the 16-bit Sega Mega Drive, including the classics like Mortal Kombat 3, Comix Zone and Jungle Strike, as well as the Sonic 3D, Golden Ax, Vectorman, Streets of Rage series.

For modern games, this is not the best option, since it does not have analog sticks. Unlike the original Sega manipulator, the 8BitDo M30 can be used in both wired and wireless mode, which adds flexibility in its use. The built-in 480 mAh battery provides up to 18 hours of gaming on a single charge, with an average charging time from the USB-C port of about two hours. The gamepad supports connections to Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, Android and iOS devices.
