Best 125 mm Cordless Angle Grinders
We independently test the products and technologies that we recommend.

The German company Einhell is known as a manufacturer of quality power tools. In the segment of battery-powered angle grinders, an interesting offer from the brand is the Expert Plus Axxio model.
This grinder is notable for its lightweight (1.2 kg) and is designed to work with small discs with a diameter up to 125 mm. It is supposed to be used with cutting, grinding, and sanding discs, as well as cup, wire, or flap brushes. The model is suitable for performing cutting and dry sanding work on metal, stone, concrete, tiles, wood, etc.
The tool is convenient to use with one hand for work at height and in hard-to-reach places. Inside the grinder, there is a reliable brushless motor with soft start systems and electronic protection. To avoid accidental start-up, the model has a corresponding lock, increasing operational safety.
The grinder works on 18-volt batteries from the Einhell Power X-Change platform. Note that the battery and charger are not included in the package. If you already have an Einhell tool with batteries, this will allow you to save considerably on the purchase. In the end, it can be said that the model is suitable for both active household use and moderately intensive professional use.

The Bosch UniversalGrind 18V-75 06033E5001 grinder, operating on a removable lithium-ion battery, is intended for use in a garage, home workshop, or construction site. This angle grinder can be called an "amateur" tool because it is designed for work with moderate loads. With its help, a DIY enthusiast can perform many tasks by himself. For example, this grinder is suitable for cutting metal profiles, plastic pipes, ceramic tiles, and other material blanks. It can also be used for working with flat and curved surfaces: removing rust, stripping paint, or sanding metal and wood.
To perform the aforementioned tasks, it is necessary to choose the right accessories. This grinder can be fitted with attachments with a diameter of 125 mm: flap wheels for sanding, abrasive discs for grinding (up to 6 mm thickness), diamond wheels for cutting operations (up to 3 mm thickness), disc and conical brushes, as well as wire brushes (up to ⌀75 mm).
For user convenience, the manufacturer equipped the tool with an inrush current limiter (soft start function), allowing the grinder to start smoothly without a jerk. The reliability of the motor is ensured by an electronic protection system, which turns off the motor under excessive load on the grinder.
The version called Bosch UniversalGrind 18V-75 06033E5001 is a completely "basic" configuration without a battery and charger (the box contains only the tool itself, a protective cover, and an additional handle). To power the angle grinder, you need to purchase a Bosch Power for ALL 18V battery (the manufacturer recommends using a battery with a capacity of at least 4 Ah) or use a battery pack from another Bosch DIY power tool (like a drill, trimmer, saw, or others), which may already be in your home or workshop.

The Makita DGA506Z grinder is a prime example of a tool made with consideration for the conditions in which it will operate. For instance, the body is made of very sturdy plastic, resistant to shocks and falls. The air intake holes are covered with a fine mesh filter, preventing dust clogging. Inside the body, there is a brushless motor (more reliable than collector motors and maintenance-free). The manufacturer does not provide information about the motor's power (such data is rarely available for battery tools), but according to user reviews, the characteristics of this grinder roughly correspond to 700-watt corded equivalents.
Along with the brushless motor comes a whole package of useful electronic options: soft start and speed maintenance functions (the disc maintains a constant speed regardless of load), a motor protection module (the motor shuts off under overload), and a dynamic brake (after releasing the button, the rotating disc automatically stops in 3 seconds).
Despite generally good tool ergonomics, one detail receives criticism. It's about the power button, which, like in many other Makita battery grinders, is not located on the side under the thumb but on the top. Therefore, turning the tool on and off is not very convenient.
This grinder is sold without batteries. It's advantageous if you already have a charger and 18-volt batteries from any other Makita LXT series tool (drill, jigsaw, router, or renovator), and do not want to overpay for additional accessories. A case would be helpful, but can also be purchased separately at a low cost.

The DeWALT DCG406N is a professional class grinder, aimed at installers and metal processing specialists. It is compact (310 mm in length), lightweight (1.74 kg without battery), and designed for working with small discs up to 125 mm in diameter. Therefore, this grinder is convenient for working at height and in hard-to-reach places. You can cut a bolt, trim sheet metal, slice rolled products for welding, cut a piece of metal or plastic pipe, clean or grind a surface — perform any operation the angle grinder is designed for.
The grinder is equipped with a brushless motor with an electronic protection module and soft start. It also features disc jamming protection (safety clutch) and a dynamic brake. When the trigger is released, the brake instantly stops the cutting wheel. This is for safety. If working above head level, you drop the tool, the grinder simply shuts off without causing injury. However, it's unlikely you'll drop the grinder as its body is covered with non-slip rubber pads on all sides.
A characteristic of this model is the long trigger instead of the usual button. It's convenient to press in any position of the grinder, but working with a paddle switch takes some getting used to. If you're unsure about getting used to it, it's better to take the identical grinder DeWALT DCG405P2 with a more traditional button.
The battery and charger are not included. It's best to buy a 5 Ah battery (this provides ideal balance), but you can take a smaller battery if you want the tool with the battery to weigh 100-200 grams less. These same batteries are suitable for other types of DeWALT XR series battery tools: from drills and jigsaws to nail guns and rotary hammers.

The Bosch GWS 18V-10 PSC Professional 06019G3F0B grinder is a high-class tool for masters who professionally engage in processing metal, stone, concrete, and other materials used in construction and production. The manufacturer assures that its power is roughly equivalent to corded grinders with 1000 W motors — in other words, it is a serious tool with which you can perform rather complex tasks with a significant load on the grinder. The power reserve is sufficient for working with all types of ⌀125 mm accessories, including grinding and sanding disks, cutting disks, and wire brushes. The accessories are mounted on the spindle using a special nut that is tightened and loosened by hand, without a tool. This allows for quick and easy changing of accessories when switching from one task to another. For setting the grinder for different tasks, work modes can be switched, differing by spindle rotation speed: 4500 rpm (for removing paint and rust), 6000 rpm (for grinding and sanding), and 9000 rpm (for performing cutting operations).
The tool is equipped with a brushless motor with overload protection and a brake that quickly stops the accessory after releasing the trigger. An interesting feature of this grinder is the electronic safety systems Drop Control and KickBack Control, “built” on the basis of accelerometers. They perform the functions of a safety clutch — shutting off the motor when the tool falls or the disc jams, protecting the user. The grinder also comes with a Bluetooth module, allowing setup with a smartphone on which the special Bosch Toolbox App is installed.
From the extensive list of functions and electronic "assistants", it's clear that a grinder “packed” with so much technology cannot be cheap. It's true, the price of the Bosch GWS 18V-10 PSC Professional 06019G3F0B seems high. But professionals using the tool daily for several hours can be sure that the money invested in purchasing such a grinder will pay off many times over.
The set includes an energy-absorbing additional handle (reduces vibration level by about 30%), a protective cover, and a spacious plastic case L-BOXX 136 with special inserts for the tool, battery, and charger. However, the battery and charger are not included — they need to be purchased separately (a Bosch Professional 18V battery with a capacity of at least 4 Ah is required).
Note that this grinder is activated with a paddle switch. If you prefer a more traditional slider switch, it's better to purchase the Bosch GWS 18V-10 SC Professional 06019G340B — the same tool in exactly the same configuration, but with a different activation method.
