Makita's A36N grinding discs were designed to out-perform all other aluminium grinding discs on the market. The unique bond structure is a combination of grit impregnated with a substance called stear more→ic acid. This specially formulated mix ensures lubrication is present between the grit and work surface at raised emperatures. Due to the low melting point of aluminium, problems can arise once a grinding surface reaches melting point. The useful substance present within the bond structure acts as a lubricant to reduce friction between grit and workpiece. Lower friction = less heat build up.
