Alberto Alessi thus asked 11 of the best architects in the world to each create a solid silver tea service, that would be sold in art galleries. That of Michael Graves won him over and asked him to come up with a stainless steel kettle for the general public. In the midst of the post-modern era, the American creator nonchalantly mixed all of his influences into this piece: European decorative arts, US popart and Pre-Colombian craftsmanship. The wide base ensures that the water heats more quickly. As a bonus, the architect fitted his kettle with a bird-shaped whistle cap, which sings when the water boils… Alberto Alessi recalls it clearly:""As a designer, Michael was one of our heroes between 1980 and 1990.
