Recommended room area
The area of the room for which the device is designed. This paragraph indicates the maximum area that this model can effectively serve: the use in smaller rooms is quite acceptable, but the device simply does not have enough performance for a larger space. We also note that the area is indicated based on a ceiling height of 2.5-3 m — the standard value for residential premises; with a higher ceiling height, the effective area decreases, and it can be recalculated using special formulas.
When choosing by area, it is worth taking a certain margin, but it should not be too large — otherwise, the device will turn out to be unnecessarily powerful, bulky and expensive.
Air circulation
The amount of air that the air cooler can pass through itself in an hour.
This parameter depends on the power and the overall level of the device, but there is no strict dependence here: models with the same effective power may differ in air circulation speed. In such cases, it is worth proceeding from the fact that a higher speed contributes to more uniform mixing of air and reduces the time required to create a given microclimate; on the other hand, higher-performance devices use more power, are larger and/or cost more.
Number of speeds
The number of preset speeds of the device. Air coolers mainly have adjustments with preset speeds — step by step; with this control, the speed is set by pressing the corresponding button. The more speeds, the more comfortable you can configure the devices to suit your needs and premises.
Water tank volume
The volume of the water tank installed in the air cooler. A large capacity allows you to work longer without adding water, but it affects the dimensions and weight of the device. It should be borne in mind that the cooler the water, the greater the cooling effect and frequent water changes are even beneficial. Also, do not forget that pathogenic bacteria can grow in water if there is water left in the tank and the device is not used for a long time.
Humidification water consumption
The rate at which the air conditioner consumes water. Knowing this speed and the volume of the water tank, you can determine the operating time on a single refill. Also, this parameter can be used to evaluate the performance and speed of the device: the higher the water consumption, the more it evaporates into the air per unit of time. Accordingly, a more high consumption device allows you to achieve the desired humidity quickly.
Operating time
These are hours of operation per tank filling. It depends on the volume of the tank and the consumption of water. It allows you to understand how long the device can work independently without human intervention.
Heating
The
heating function allows you to heat the room to the desired temperature. It is an addition to the basic set of air cooler functionality. As a rule, 2-3 modes of work intensity are provided for heating.
Night mode
A special mode of operation, designed for nighttime. As a rule, in this mode, the device reduces the speed of operation, thereby reducing noise. Some models in
night mode also support higher rates than in daytime — it is believed that this is the optimal microclimate for sleep.
Ionizer
A device for saturating the air with negatively charged ions. It is believed that the presence of such ions in the air has a beneficial effect on health and well-being, and also creates a feeling of freshness. In addition,
ionization helps to reduce the amount of flying dust — it settles faster on various surfaces.
