Recommended room area
The area of the room for which the device is designed. This paragraph indicates the maximum area that this model can effectively serve: the use in smaller rooms is quite acceptable, but the device simply does not have enough performance for a larger space. We also note that the area is indicated based on a ceiling height of 2.5-3 m — the standard value for residential premises; with a higher ceiling height, the effective area decreases, and it can be recalculated using special formulas.
When choosing by area, it is worth taking a certain margin, but it should not be too large — otherwise, the device will turn out to be unnecessarily powerful, bulky and expensive.
Air circulation
The amount of air that the air cooler can pass through itself in an hour.
This parameter depends on the power and the overall level of the device, but there is no strict dependence here: models with the same effective power may differ in air circulation speed. In such cases, it is worth proceeding from the fact that a higher speed contributes to more uniform mixing of air and reduces the time required to create a given microclimate; on the other hand, higher-performance devices use more power, are larger and/or cost more.
Number of speeds
The number of preset speeds of the device. Air coolers mainly have adjustments with preset speeds — step by step; with this control, the speed is set by pressing the corresponding button. The more speeds, the more comfortable you can configure the devices to suit your needs and premises.
Auto-rotate blinds
Automatic blind position adjustment is used in air conditioners to ensure uniform distribution of outgoing air flows. As a result, fresh and clean air penetrates into all corners of the serviced premises.
Timer
The function that provides automatic shutdown after a user-defined time. It eliminates the need to turn off the device manually, which is not always convenient.
The timer can be useful, for example, if the device is turned on at night, or if it works in a children's room with a sleeping child who is not wanted to be disturbed.
Heating power
The power when operating in the maximum heating mode. The ability of the air cooler to effectively heat a particular room directly depends on it. Some special formulas and methods allow you to determine how efficiently climate complexes of a given power operate in heating mode. So, for an ordinary dwelling with a ceiling height of about 2.5 m, at least 100 W of power per 1 m² of area is required.
Power consumption
The maximum power consumed by the device during operation. The lower it is the more economical the device. It should be noted that operation in the heating mode is highlighted as a separate item, but here it is indicated in the normal mode.
Noise level
The maximum noise level generated by the air cooler during operation. Most of these devices are used in residential areas, so this parameter should be treated carefully. According to sanitary standards, constant noise in such rooms should not exceed 40 dB (quiet conversation) during the day and 30 dB (wall clock ticking) at night. More detailed comparison tables and recommendations can be found in special sources. It is also worth mentioning that the noise level is indicated for the maximum operating speed, so the noise level will be significantly lower in reduced mode.
