Model overview based on user reviews
The Vredestein Snowtrac 5 tires are praised for their excellent performance in snow and stability in turns, making them a reliable choice for winter driving. Users appreciate their softness and quiet ride, although some note they can be noisy on the track. While they handle well on snow, caution is advised on ice, as they can be challenging without studs. A notable concern is the weak sidewall, which may develop bulges if tire pressure is not maintained, potentially compromising the tire's softness. Despite these issues, many users find the tires to be a good match of price and quality, recommending them for their grip and road-holding capabilities. However, some suggest they may not last beyond three seasons due to wear. Overall, the Snowtrac 5 is a solid choice for those prioritizing snow performance, with the caveat of careful pressure management.

205*55*R16. Installed in autumn. Drove less than 5000 km. Got two bulges on the front tires (not simultaneously). Had to replace one tire because the bulge was too big. The second - patched and moved to the back. That was it. After this, I check the pressure weekly: 2.3 in the front and 2.0 in the back, as the manual says (Renault Megane 3). It got stiffer, though tolerable. No more bulges appeared. With the need to maintain high pressure to avoid bulges, one of the main advantages - softness - has come to naught. As for wear resistance - I think it won't last more than 3 seasons. Previously, I used Nokian Nordman RS in winter and had no problems. And in terms of comfort, it was no less. Now I understand I should have continued using it. Soft, not noisy. Performs excellently in snow. Ice - requires caution. But on ice without studs - pointless. Weak sidewall. If the pressure drops slightly, there is a high chance of developing a bulge when hitting an obstacle. Visually, there is wear on the drive axle (evenly). It is difficult to estimate the percentage, but the difference from the rear axle is noticeable. They have only covered 5000 km. Tires from mid-2015. use Vredestein Snowtrac 5 month or more |
i recommend it to everyone this is a real tractor, size 185/70/14 no deficiencies noticed, pressure at 2 atm, runs quietly. use Vredestein Snowtrac 5 week |
The tires are excellent, I drove them all winter, I didn't read stupid comments because I tested them myself on a Renault Logan, I really liked them, they go great on snow, but on ice they do wear well, but in moderation. I recommend them. The price and quality match! Stability in turns at speed on snow, the grip of the tires on the mountain is excellent! on ice and black ice, with some difficulty, but it goes up a decent hill! use Vredestein Snowtrac 5 195/65 R15 91T few months |
