Model overview based on user reviews
The Pirelli Winter Carving Edge tires are highly regarded for their performance in snowy and slushy conditions, offering excellent traction and durability. Users appreciate their quiet operation and wear resistance, making them a reliable choice for winter driving. However, they are noted to be less effective on ice and can become less stable at higher speeds, especially when temperatures rise above +10°C. Some users find them a bit noisy initially, and the spikes may come off easily. Despite these drawbacks, the tires are considered a good value for money and a solid choice for those prioritizing off-road capability and winter performance. Overall, while not perfect, they are a commendable option among winter tires.

Excellent. Visited all the stores and everyone recommended these tires or the Michelin X-Ice, but the X-Ice is more for ice. By the way, I used non-studded tires prepared for studding, manufactured in Italy in 2009. Size 205/65/R15. Don't listen to salespeople who try to convince you that tires from 2005 and 2010 are the same. Let the smart alecks use those themselves. By the way, they hardly wore out over the season, even though they were used in very extreme conditions and very often on asphalt in temperatures above zero. Just super!!! Excellent tires. It's unreal to get stuck in the snow (unless you bottom out, but no tires will save you then). They handle ice perfectly. I drove at 190 km/h at -1 in rain and snow. Everything was great (although I advise you not to take such risks). Incredible on asphalt, though you can feel the tread height. Not noisy. Really very quiet. Quieter than the summer Bridgestone Turanza) proven. Doesn't really like ice. Changed the tires pretty late in the spring, with positive temperatures on the asphalt, due to the high tread probably felt very unsure in turns at quite high speeds (over 120), it seemed like the car would slip off. Thought it was just not reset from winter yet, but as soon as switched to summer tires on the same roads, 160 was no problem at all. Do not exceed the speed limit. (T-190 km/h) Even on dry asphalt reached 220, the car swayed a lot, then remembered that the maximum is 190)) 190 holds perfectly. ![]() |
bought new 4 pcs tires used for 5 winters and thousands of km and they still work. Very satisfied. good tires, especially on moderately snowy roads and wet snow. You might get stuck only on ice or where chains might help))) Durable against wear. does not hold very well on ice, and at temperatures above +10. if you don’t change tires in time, even my ABS was activated quite actively on dry asphalt (the rubber is so soft in warmth) ![]() |
Bought it new in 2008. Italy. Drove for 4 seasons, started the fifth. I drive every day. Judging by the tread, it'll last a couple more years. In general, very good, but next time I’ll get regular winter tires (not studded). Holds the road quite well. Slush and snow are its elements. Compared to the Fulda Kristall Ice, it is somewhat stiff. Perhaps due to the tread under the stud. It does not handle ice well. ![]() |
