Video reviews

Finnish tyre manufacturers from Nokian know firsthand about the harsh winters. Under the changeable conditions of the cold season, the WR Snowproof P tyre with a sporty character is perfectly adapted. This high-performance rubber will appeal to adherents of a dynamic driving style.

Full control

The tyre tread was “drawn” in a symmetrical form. A "toothed" stiffening rib is launched along the very centre of the tyre's treadmill. Logical and predictable handling is provided by the matrix support of the tread blocks, thanks to which the tyre remains in control at high speeds and during dynamic lane changes on slippery winter roads.

Water drainage system

An important parameter of high-quality winter tyres is the efficiency of removing water and melted snow masses from the contact patch. The tyre's hydroevacuation system is built from connected drainage grooves and a dense network of sipes in the tread blocks. The outflow of water is accelerated by the polished walls of the aqua-drainage channels. As a result, Nokian WR Snowproof P is not at all afraid of the insidious effects of hydroplaning and slashplaning.

Out of competition

The rubber compound of the model is called Alpine Performance. It retains excellent driving characteristics over a wide range of outdoor temperatures. On loose snow, the tyre is helped to “rake out” special “snow claws”, and the sawtooth traction and braking boosters improve the tenacity of the tyre on slippery road surfaces. Of the minuses of the model, only too soft sidewalls are noted, which are vulnerable to mechanical damage. But in terms of driving comfort, you will not find winter tyres equal to a tyre in the sports class during the day with fire.
