Restrained gaming power
The HP Victus 15-fb2447nw (A58SVEA) laptop demonstrates optimal performance for its price category. It has a fresh Ryzen 7 processor (8th generation, Hawk Point) with an increased core frequency of up to 5.1 GHz. In combination with 16 GB of high-speed DDR5 5600 MHz RAM, the model guarantees a quick launch of any applications and support for multitasking. Professional gaming is possible thanks to the progressive NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 video card, built on tensor cores. The graphics system provides a number of auxiliary features that take the gaming process to a new level. The video adapter improves color rendition, lighting and detailing of virtual world objects in real time without additional load on RAM and the processor.
A feeling of total immersion
HP Victus 15-fb2447nw (A58SVEA) allows you to get satisfaction regardless of the purpose. High-quality acoustics from Bang & Olufsen are balanced by frequencies and compatible with DTS X Ultra algorithms to create a surround all-round sound. Bluetooth 5.3 allows you to connect wireless headsets and provides fast signal transmission without delays during online games. If desired, you can immerse yourself in the world of virtual entertainment using compatible equipment (helmets, glasses, joysticks).
For starters
The content is displayed on an IPS screen with good viewing angles and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. It is compatible with AMD FreeSync technology, which prevents tearing and image artifacts in dynamic games (action, racing). Among other things, it is worth noting the neutral white backlight of the keyboard and the ability to quickly charge the standard battery.

I bought it for long-term use, assuming I would frequently transport it and often discharge and recharge it. So far, it hasn't disappointed me; the model is quite handy for work. It came out of the box with Windows 11. I installed Linux Mint on it, fearing that the manufacturer hadn't provided any Linux drivers, but it turned out that everything works perfectly. It has an integrated GPU thanks to the AMD processor, so most of the time, unless it's about gaming, it uses it, which is much more energy-efficient. When the discrete GPU is turned on, you can immediately hear it, especially during rendering or running heavy games; the fans are so loud that even a great loud speaker doesn't save the situation (so I recommend playing with headphones). The charging is quite fast, which is convenient for frequent transportation of the laptop; it charged fully for me in no more than an hour and a half from zero. It can work autonomously for about 3-5 hours, depending on the load. The keyboard backlighting satisfied me; I don't need colorful lighting, and white even helps to spoil the eyes less in complete darkness. The small memory volume as a separate issue is quite easily resolved; you can install in the free SSD slot, by the way, or you can connect a portable SSD via USB 3.2, which is the option I used, quite convenient actually because even heavy games run without a problem through USB. (Baldur's Gate III ran without issues). Low price, the quality of the built-in speakers is very good. In my experience with laptops, this is the loudest speaker. Since this configuration has both the processor and the video card from AMD, it performs well on Linux, and all other components work well. There is a possibility to increase the RAM up to 32 GB. The presence of USB 3.2 saves the day with the small memory capacity. If you're going to use Linux, keep in mind that while the monitor will work and display colors correctly, there might be some issues with image processing (color correction). Finding the correct monitor model was quite difficult. The manufacturer doesn't officially support this product on Linux (although this doesn't prevent it from fully functioning). Also, it's worth noting the speaker is positioned upwards, which in my opinion might lead to it gathering dust over time. The fans can get very noisy when the graphics card is under heavy load, although the graphics card doesn't run unnecessarily. |
