Model overview based on user reviews
The Goodyear Ultra Grip Extreme tires are highly praised for their excellent performance in harsh winter conditions, offering superior grip on snow and ice. Users appreciate the reliable handling and stability these tires provide, even at high speeds. Many reviews highlight the tires' durability, with minimal wear observed after several seasons. However, a common concern is the noise level, particularly on asphalt, and the tendency for studs to fall out quickly, especially with aggressive driving. Despite these drawbacks, the tires are recommended for their overall quality and performance, making them a solid choice for winter driving.

as an option, you can de-stud for a quiet ride, but the off-road capability will decrease, you should put them on only with the onset of real winter conditions. in the harsh winter, it performs very well; when many are crawling - you are driving! but here's more: if winter didn't succeed - it's a pain, hums like on a train, just terrible, especially speed 50-80, just the working range, after 100 you can't hear it at all, and at profile 70 it doesn't behave great, but here it's a bit too much. ![]() |
You won't regret it Excellent tire, the first GoodYear tire, Polish, was very doubtful when I got it, bought non-studded, I don't approve of studs, but I thought if it doesn't handle I'll stud it, but there was no need, never got stuck anywhere, maybe thanks to the anti-slip with course stability, but the braking and acceleration are pleasing, you can drive however you like, almost every snow turn I took sideways, after 12 thousand kilometers only the front tires wore out and even then less than halfway (probably drove a lot in warm weather), in size 205 55 16 not a single bump or puncture, don't spin on asphalt and brake sharply, the inner treads wear out (if you look closely you can see how there is an extra tread in the gaps), and it starts to chew them up. Noisy, especially when braking, but I consider it a small issue compared to its advantages. ![]() |
Those who love extreme driving won't find them suitable: firstly, the studs will be lost quickly, and secondly, they're too soft and not good for sharp maneuvers. I recommend them to everyone else. Very good handling, confidently grips both snow and asphalt. Acceleration, braking — the same, simply wonderful, even on ice. Soft. Studs fly out—not massively, but noticeably. At 40-50 km/h they start to make noise... well, they already make a significant noise, but especially at this speed. Due to softness, you can't speed too much. ![]() |
