Quiet and smooth
GIGABYTE GB-BPCE-3455 is a modified version of the reference Intel NUC BOX6CAYH nettop, made with an emphasis on passive cooling and, as a result, completely silent operation. The only thing that can buzz a little is the hard drive, if you, of course, choose it, and not a silent solid state drive. Fortunately, 2.5-inch HDDs, unlike 3.5-inch counterparts, vibrate weakly.
Single chip system
The heart of the GB-BPCE-3455 is an Intel Celeron J3455 processor with four cores of the latest energy-efficient Apollo Lake architecture (one and a half times faster than its predecessor Braswell) and Intel HD 500 graphics (12 execution units). He can handle such popular multiplayer games as World of Tanks and League of Legends, as well as single-player hits until 2008.
Do it yourself
RAM, by analogy with a disk, is not supplied in the kit — the buyer is invited to choose the required volume on his own (two SO-DIMM DDR3L slots are available).
Everything will connect
At the ends of the GB-BPCE-3455 there was a place for four USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI digital video output and an analogue VGA output, an Ethernet socket, a paired 3.5 mm audio jack and a card reader. The only internal MiniPCIe slot is occupied by a Wi-Fi + Bluetooth card, while there is no additional MiniPCIe M.2 (or mSATA) slot for a second drive. As a result, we get, albeit not an ultra-fast, but absolutely silent PC, capable of becoming a reliable office hard worker or set-top box with the functionality of an emulator of the classic game consoles Dendy (NES), Sega Mega Drive and PlayStation One, after being equipped with memory and a disk.

It’s great to see nettops starting to appear widely in stores. I only need a computer at home for the internet, watching YouTube movies, social networks, and as a typewriter. I don't want a laptop because I find them inconvenient to work with. And buying a large box for these purposes is also pointless. However, if you take a nettop, you can get a decent system with minimal size. I installed 8 GB of RAM and an SSD. As a result, I got a very fast system, even despite the not-so-powerful processor. The graphics core is quite enough to handle high-resolution videos. Installing Ubuntu went smoothly. A very small box with decent performance. The cooling system runs very quietly; when there's no load, you can't hear it at all. There are a variety of connectors, including DisplayPort and USB 3.0. It's sold not as a ready-made system, but as a kit, so everyone can insert their own drive and the amount of memory they need. By the way, it can have up to 16 GB of memory, which is not bad for such a tiny device. There's a mini-PCIe slot, which already has a wireless adapter installed (at least in the GB-BXCE-2955 model). A VESA bracket is included in the package, so you can mount it on the wall or the back of a monitor, essentially creating an all-in-one PC. The number of USB ports could have been increased. A couple more wouldn't hurt. However, given the system's features, this will be more than enough for most users. The external power supply, similar to a laptop's, was a bit disappointing. It doesn't quite look right next to such a small device. use Gigabyte BRIX week i recommend it should buy |
