Model overview based on user reviews
The General Altimax Arctic tires are highly praised for their excellent performance in snow, slush, and mud, making them ideal for challenging winter conditions. Users appreciate their durability and wear resistance, with some reporting minimal wear even after several seasons. The tires offer good road grip and are particularly effective when studded, providing confidence on icy surfaces. While they can be a bit noisy, especially on dry asphalt, this is often considered a minor drawback given their affordable price and overall performance. The tires are noted for their reliable handling and braking, although they may not be as effective on ice without studs. Despite being a lesser-known brand, they are compared favorably to more expensive options, offering great value for money. Some users mention the soft sidewalls as a potential concern, but overall, the General Altimax Arctic is recommended for its superb winter capabilities.

Great tires for the money! I put them on my SUV, which I frequently drive not only in the city but also on country roads. During the long period of use, I haven’t encountered any serious problems yet. Maybe more expensive brands produce more interesting products, but their prices are much higher. It drives well even out of very serious snowdrifts. The studs are firm and don't wear down too quickly — only lost 5 of them on four wheels in a season. Affordable price. A bit noisy and... that's probably it. At this price, you can forgive such a drawback :) ![]() |
Successful tread, plows out of impressive snowdrifts, performs worse on ice, but that's if not studded. Overall, I liked it. Driving through slush is its element, as if driving on dry asphalt. Performed excellently on loose snow, and can also drive on slush without fear. There's practically no wear. It holds the road very well. A bit noisy, but as they say, it's a relative concept and depends on many factors. ![]() |
The tires are worth the money. For winter, I will only get the same kind. The tires are superb. I put them on my minivan. My father put them on his SUV. In winter, driving on these treads feels like driving on asphalt, not snow. They are wear-resistant. After four years of driving on one set, there was 60% wear with a mileage of 50,000 km. I bought the non-studded version and won't be adding studs. For Kyiv, it's not necessary:) Didn't notice any drawbacks (yet) ![]() |
