How to choose a power supply for a PCBasics of choosing a reliable and balanced power supply for your home, office and gaming computer
Model overview based on user reviews
The Chieftec iARENA GPA series offers a range of power supply units that are generally appreciated for their quiet operation and reliability. Users have noted that these PSUs are reasonably priced and can handle well-equipped systems, making them suitable for setups with components like an Intel Core i5 and a solid graphics card. However, some models have been criticized for short cables, which can be problematic depending on the case layout. While some users have experienced issues such as low efficiency or immediate failure, others have found the units to be long-lasting and capable of withstanding power fluctuations. Overall, the Chieftec iARENA GPA series is seen as a decent choice, though potential buyers should verify cable lengths to ensure compatibility with their systems.

good model, liked it.

It worked for eight years without any complaints. I was pulling a 95 Watt old Athlone, and I saw that it was also consuming 230 Watts. Moreover, Athlone is overclocked from 3 to 3.5 GHz. Now he has retired to build on a Ryzen Z 3200G; he will live without discrete data for another 10 years.
Reliable, didn't turn off for weeks.
Noisy under load, it actually produces no more than 400 watts.
Can and should be taken

Whoever says what, but the power supply for a PC plays a crucial role, and the GPA 500S8 is a good, reliable comrade. With such parameters, it would be possible to take a cheaper PSU, but believe me, when you use a PC with an SSD and this unit, you will no longer take dubious models, since the Chieftec brand itself is very reliable. And at the expense of cable lengths, as it turned out, it is necessary to clarify and check in advance so that everything fits.
It works quietly, does not squeak, does not stink from it.
The cables turned out to be unexpectedly short, especially for powering the processor: the cable goes into a stretch, hooking on the CPU cooling system (the space in the case for the PSU is allotted at the bottom, and the CPU on the motherboard on top)
Artem A.use Chieftec GPA-500S8 month or more i recommend it should buy
Slag and shame for the manufacturer

I didn’t see the PSU worse. When I turned it on, it sparked right away, the PC didn’t start, turned it off.
Nothing works
Died immediately after plugging in
use Chieftec GPA-600S less than month
