The family of 14-inch laptops from Asus has expanded to include the proprietary ROG Zephyrus series, which combines portable gaming PCs in a fairly compact (21 mm thick) and lightweight (1.72 kg) aluminium case. Among the representatives of the line there are both mid-budget solutions and models with claims to top-end status. All Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 2023 GA402XV laptops have an IPS display with increased resolution (2560 by 1600 pixels), high frame rate (165 Hz) and fast response (3 ms), as well as support for adaptive synchronization NVIDIA G-Sync, which is designed please gamers.
Also, the image on the screen is characterized by decent peak brightness (up to 500 nits), wide color gamut (100% DCI P3 space coverage) and accurate color rendition (Pantone certification). The laptops are based on the AMD platform, including an 8-core Ryzen 9 Phoenix (Zen 4) processor with a clock frequency of 4 GHz. At the same time, a discrete video card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory is responsible for graphics processing.
In addition to supporting current technologies such as ray tracing or Advanced Optimus, the accelerator is designed to provide stable fps values at high settings in many popular AAA games. Other hardware worth highlighting is at least 16 GB of DDR5-5600 MHz RAM, a solid-state drive up to 1 TB (depending on modification) and a high-quality cooling system. The 76 Wh battery supports fast charging (up to 50% in half an hour) and can power connected devices via USB C (Power Delivery function). Bonuses of the models include the presence of a synchronized RGB keyboard backlight (Aura Sync technology), a face scanner (FaceID), acoustics with four speakers, popular connection interfaces, including a USB4 port and a Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) module.

- Very comfortable size and an impressive screen, it's a pleasure to watch movies or program. - The keyboard is a delight, with wide keys. I'll also highlight the trackpad, similar to a MacBook's, made of glass, making your finger glide smoothly. - Battery life largely depends on usage. In 1.5 years of use, I've managed to get 3-5 hours, but I rarely played games and used integrated graphics. - Incredibly powerful processor and graphics card. - Overheating, sometimes the laptop at friends' places would burn from overheating, and the case gets really hot, so if possible, replace the factory thermal paste immediately and use a stand. - Noise, like an airplane, very uncomfortable to play, sometimes it's audible even with headphones. - Software, the terrible unoptimized Asus software that can both kill and revive your laptop, you have to be very careful with it and remove all possible Asus services on your Windows. - Specifically, in my case, the keyboard backlight is uneven, some keys are too bright, make sure to check this. From my experience, for comfortable usage, you should install GHelper + set up Eco mode with Silent fans and sometimes when you want to play games, use Balanced + Standard with a stand and possibly a separate keyboard.
