Two 16 GB sticks were purchased to replace the stock 4 GB ones from Goodram. The previous memory had stock timings of 16, and the memory in the laptop runs at 2133 MHz, so these sticks were accordingly downclocked, as expected. In some tasks where a large memory volume isn't needed, the laptop started working slower, but the memory properly operates in dual-channel mode. When creating a RAM Drive with the AMD Radeon RAMDisk program, the read and write speeds were only 4500 – 4300 MB/s, while the stock Goodram memory showed results around 6500 – 6800 MB/s. It's a Dell laptop with an i5-6300HQ processor, so it's unlikely that the processor is the issue. Perhaps this memory isn't designed to work at a lower frequency, which is why the results weren't great, but memory volume was more important to me than speed. More thorough testing is needed at 2400 MHz. works, nothing falls off, matches the volume, can't exactly comment on speed as I use it at 2133 frequency. the speed of the RAM Drive operation is lower than expected; at a frequency of 2133, the memory performance noticeably decreases. |
